Frequently Asked Questions

What is IV hydration?

Intravenous hydration is a way of providing the body with key nutrients and fluid it needs to stay hydrated and function properly. Supplements can be taken by mouth however by administering them intravenously they are 100% bioavailable. Bypassing the gut, the body can utilize nutrients immediately and nothing is lost to the digestive process.

Is IV hydration safe?

Vitamins and minerals have an extremely low side effect or allergy producing profile, and overdose is generally not a concern unless a client has underlying kidney or liver dysfunction. IV hydration therapy will be contraindicated in clients with underlying heart failure, liver or kidney disease, pregnancy and clients under the age of 18. A detailed health history will be reviewed prior to your visit and any underlying chronic health conditions will be discussed. What your body does not use is eliminated. Some clients may complain of mild irritation or itching at the IV site, and although infection is always a risk with puncturing the skin, it is rare.

Is IV hydration FDA approved?

The short answer is no, however the FDA does not regulate vitamin and mineral supplementation. This includes the oral supplements bought over the counter at pharmacies, grocery stores and health and fitness stores. The manufactures, however, do have to comply with FDA production regulations to maintain safety profiles of their products.

Who will be administering my IV?

Infused IV Hydration is owned and operated by a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with 16 years’ experience in Critical Care Medicine and 30 years as a Registered Nurse.

Do you take insurance?

No, we do not accept insurance. The services provided at Infused IV Hydration are considered complimentary medicine and are not covered by insurance. We accept cash and credit or debit cards. No checks please.

Why should I consider IV hydration?

Our bodies need optimum amounts of vitamins and minerals for basic cellular functions that may not be obtained by oral intake alone depending on dietary habits. Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to acute and long-term health problems. Replenishing them does not cure disease processes, however it can help the body heal, repair cellular damage and function properly which promotes recovery. Antioxidants help to maintain a healthy immune system, detoxify the body from free radicals that can cause cell damage and promote energy production.

What infusions do you offer?

Please review the Service Menu section of the website for selections. If you have other infusions you have heard of but are not listed, please discuss them with me and I will check availability.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Please use any Book Now button on this site (or click here) to schedule an appointment. Intake forms are available to fill out prior to your visit. You will be contacted with any questions or concerns.

Why do I have to leave a deposit?

A deposit will secure your appointment time and be put towards the purchase of your infusion. Deposits are non-refundable unless it is determined that IV hydration or injections would be contraindicated for you. Your deposit will be carried forward if your appointment is rescheduled for any reason up to 90 days. After that time the deposit will not be refunded.

What are add-ons?

Add-ons are intramuscular, subcutaneous or IV push supplements and medications designed to complement your infusion or be given alone. I will be offering add-ons such as Zofran for nausea, Toradol for anti-inflammatory effects and pain relief, NAD+ and Glutathione for cellular energy as well as B12 with more to come. Some of these are built into the cost of the infusion, while others can be offered at a discount with your infusion purchase. If you do not see what you are looking for, please ask. Most likely it can be ordered.

One more thing...

Please use the restroom prior to your IV access being placed. We have a community bathroom down the hall and the malpractice company frowns upon anyone leaving the infusion suite with direct intravenous access. If you do need to leave the IV suite for any reason the IV access will be removed. If you plan to return and finish your infusion it must be done within an hour and there will be a $15.00 fee to reinsert another IV access.
